International Entrepreneur category – The International Entrepreneur Category under the Business Immigration Stream of the NLPNP (Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program) is designed for the experience business owners or senior business managers who seek permanent residence in Newfoundland and Labrador. They are required to start or acquire a business in the province and also actively participate in the day-to-day management and direction of a business.
International Graduate Entrepreneur category – This category is meant for the graduates of Memorial University or College of the North Atlantic who either have started a business or bought a local business in the province and maintained day-to-day operations for at least one year in continuation.
In order to receive nomination for permanent residence under both the categories, the applicant must fulfil certain criteria outlined by the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM).
The principal applicant and each associated partner has to submit a provincial application fee of CAD 1,000 for the International Entrepreneur category. The fee is subject to change without notice.
The processing time is comparatively less than the traditional paper-based method as, however it varies from one application to another depending on various factors that have to be assessed by the authorities.
