Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for Spanish residency by investment program:
- The primary applicant must be 18 years or above
- You must be a non-EU, non-EEA, or non-Swiss citizen to apply
- The investment must be held for at least five years
- Investment funds should come from a foreign country
- The applicant must demonstrate a clean criminal record and good health
- Demonstrate sufficient proof of funds
Investment Pathways
Following investment options are available under Spain’s Golden Visa:
Invest in Real Estate- Applicants can purchase a real estate property with a minimum value of €500,000.
Bank Deposit- Under this option, applicants may make a minimum transfer of €1 million into a Spanish bank account.
Invest in Financial Assets- Applicants may apply for Spanish residency by investment by making one of the following investments:
- €2,000,000 contribution towards the public debt.
- €1,000,000 purchase of stocks or shares in companies based in Spain.
- €1,000,000 in investment funds, Spanish-based close-end type or venture capital funds.

Gather necessary documents

Residency application submission

Receive approval of residency
After a successful review of all your documents, you’ll be granted a residence permit and a letter of advice informing you of their decision.
Get Spanish residency
After you have submitted your biometrics, you will receive a residence card which comes with two years’ validity. The card can be renewed after five years. Investors are eligible to apply for permanent residency after five years, however, they must demonstrate that they have lived in Spain for more than four years and two months in the last five years.
Documentation Requirements for Spain Golden Visa
- Copy of original passport, valid for at least one year, and two blank pages for the visa.
- Two passport-sized photographs.
- Proof of valid medical insurance: public health insurance and private contracted with an insurance company licensed to operate in Spain.
- Medical certificate
- Certified copy of the criminal record certificate for the past five years, from your country of origin.
- Copy of marriage certificates and birth certificates.
Processing Fee
Visa fee:
- For United States nationals: €249.65 (tax inclusive)
- For Canadian nationals: €179.79 (tax inclusive)
- Other nationalities: €133.92
€9,000 for a family of four for the initial application and €2,500 for each renewal.
