What are the eligibility criteria for UK Start-up Visa?
The start-up UK visa offers a remarkable opportunity for ambitious entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals who wish to establish their own business in the United Kingdom. The business immigration route allows successful applicants to remain in the UK for two years. After this period, the investor may apply for permanent residency status through the Innovator visa route.
The visa is only open to those who have secured appropriate endorsement.
Key Advantages of the UK Start-up Visa Program?
The most significant advantage of applying for the UK start-up visa is it does not require any investments. There is also no need for the involvement of a UK employer.
The visa also permits the investor to apply for permanent residency in the UK after two years.
What are the criteria for an endorsement?
The Home Office UK has set out three key criteria for the endorsement body- innovation, viability, and scalability.
Innovation – The applicant must have a genuine, original business plan that aligns with new or existing market needs and has a competitive advantage.
Viability – The applicant is actively developing or already has the required skills, knowledge, experience, and market awareness to run their business successfully.
Scalability–There needs to be evidence of structured planning, job creation prospects, and the potential to grow into national markets.
The UK entrepreneur visa under the start-up program is granted for two years, with no requirement for initial capital investment. However, during this period, applicants are expected to dedicate most of their time setting up their business and carrying out its operations.
Once the two-year period is over, the visa holder may apply for the Innovator Visa to extend their stay in the UK and expand their business in the country.
